DALLAS - Nearly 40 students from multiple Dallas ISD campuses were selected for the opportunity of a lifetime - escorting FIFA World Cup players onto the pitch, including today's game between Spain and Portugal. The once-in-a-lifetime experience puts these students and Dallas ISD on the global stage while creating unforgettable memories as they take part in one of the world's biggest sporting events.

Dallas ISD students dive into opportunity
Students at Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy dove into new opportunities through a swimming program that teaches water safety, builds confidence, and prepares students for future employment. In partnership with the YMCA, the eight-week pilot program helps students develop swimming skills at every level while fostering leadership through peer mentorship. Next year, the program will expand to include lifeguard certification, giving students valuable career credentials and life-saving skills.
