Palmer scientist to lead workshop on composting for beginners

Caley Gasch, a soil scientist with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, will lead a workshop on the basics of composting, which creates a great soil amendment and keeps materials from going to the landfill. Gasch will build a small compost pile as a demonstration.

This lunch-and-learn event is available in person and via Zoom. The in-person class will be in Kertulla Hall, Room 208, at the Matanuska Experiment Station and Extension Center, 1509 S. Georgeson Drive, Palmer.

The free class is from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13.
