Paramus, NJ - On July 1 at the UPS Bayonne facility, the New Jersey Attorney General, joined by leaders from the Division of Criminal Justice and the state's human trafficking training program, will recognize Coach USA for its commitment to combating human and sex trafficking through employee training programs. The recognition coincides with Truckers Against Trafficking's Freedom Drivers Project, a powerful walk-through mobile exhibit that travels across the United States and Canada to raise awareness about the realities of human trafficking. Derrick Waters, CEO of Coach USA and Coach Canada, and Newel Scoon, Vice President of North American Operations, will accept the recognition on behalf of Coach USA.
Derrick Waters, CEO of Coach USA, said, "We are honored to be recognized for our work and commitment to combating human and sex trafficking in New Jersey and across the United States and Canada, where we provide transportation services. Our commitment does not stop with training each bus and coach operator and customer-facing employee; it is a daily responsibility to do everything we can to help stop human trafficking."
Newel Scoon added, "Derrick and I both serve on national boards and committees dedicated to doing everything possible to stop human trafficking. Unfortunately, high-profile events such as the World Cup and America 250 celebrations can increase the risk of human and sex trafficking . That is when the training we provide through TAT to our operators is crucial."
Derrick Waters serves on the United States Department of Transportation Advisory Committee on Human Trafficking , and Newel Scoon serves on the Truckers Against Trafficking Board. Their commitment to this cause is reflected every day at Coach USA and Coach Canada.
