TRAFFIC ALERT: Pavement Sealing Work Planned on Route O in Cedar Co. April 21

When: 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday, April 21

Where: Route O in Cedar County between Cedar County 1550th Road and Cedar County Route B north of Jerico Springs

What: MoDOT crews sealing Route O with a mixture of rock and oil

Traffic Impacts:

• Both lanes of Route O CLOSED in sections where crews are working
• Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars directing them through the work zone. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• No signed detours, drivers urged to find alternate routes
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

A seal coat is not an alternative to an asphalt overlay, but is planned for this road as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and will extend its life.
