NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE, known as the most authentic celebration of Prince in the world, will kick off Stephen F. Austin State University's University Series at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Turner Auditorium in the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

The band returns to Nacogdoches following tremendous success of their 2018 University Series performance and enthusiastic response from the university and surrounding communities.

Marshall Charloff & The Purple xPeRIeNCE captures the sound, soul and showmanship of the late musical icon with remarkable authenticity. Co-founded by Marshall Charloff and Matt "Doctor" Fink, former keyboardist from Prince & The Revolution, the band delivers a live performance filled with energy, precision and all the hits fans love.

"It's as close to the real thing as you'll find - a full concert experience that audiences of all ages will enjoy," said Dr. Gary Wurtz, dean of the Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts. "We're thrilled to bring them back and hope you'll come out and join us for an unforgettable night."

Charloff, a Minneapolis native who has performed with members of Prince's band and with 25 symphonies across North America, leads an all-star lineup of musicians who have played with artists such as Christina Aguilera, The Backstreet Boys and Prince's own New Power Generation. Together, they perform fan favorites including "Purple Rain," "Kiss" and "When Doves Cry" with electrifying authenticity.

The concert is sponsored in part by Etech. A reception will follow the concert in the Griffith Fine Arts Building lobby featuring SuSu's Popcorn and an opportunity to meet the performers.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at sfasu.edu/boxoffice. Discounts are available for seniors, students, children and SFA faculty and staff.
