Spanish Government condemns latest attack on UNRWA facilities in West Bank

Today
The Spanish Government condemns the latest attacks by Israeli security forces, backed by members of the Israeli Government, against the UNRWA Vocational Training Centre in Qalandia and the UNRWA facilities in the Shu'fat Palestinian refugee camp in East Jerusalem.

The Spanish Government categorically rejects these unacceptable violations of the United Nations agency buildings, which are protected by immunities under international law.

Spain once again urges Israel to respect international law and its international obligations, including those incumbent upon it as an occupying power, as well as the advisory opinions of the International Court of Justice.

The Government reiterates its firm support for UNRWA and the full fulfilment of its mandate, which is essential for meeting the needs of the Palestinian refugee population, until a just and lasting peace is achieved in the region through the implementation of the two-State solution.
