Lane closures on northbound I-55 in St. Clair County

EAST ST. LOUIS - The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that northbound Interstate 55 will be reduced to one lane between the I-55/I-64 split and Exchange Avenue in St. Clair County from Tuesday, July 7, through Thursday, July 9, weather permitting, for bridge maintenance.

The lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.

Motorists should expect long delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
