TO VAN DYKE RD.) IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND TOM GIARRANTE CLOSURE TO BEGIN OCTOBER 6, 2025 Joliet, IL -Construction on the County Line Road Widening & Resurfacing Project will begin the morning of Monday, October 6, 2025. The work will require a full closure of Tom Giarrante Drive at the intersection of County Line Road for the duration of the project. A detour route will be posted, directing traffic to Hadrian Drive. The project will primarily consist of widening County Line Road to a four-lane section from Kennedy Drive to Van Dyke Road. Other improvements include the installation of a box culvert extension beneath the newly widened pavement section, resurfacing of the existing pavement to remain in place, storm sewer installations & adjustments, new curb, new sidewalk, new roadway street lighting, and seed restoration in all disturbed areas on the east side of County Line Road. One lane of traffic in each direction on County Line Rd will be maintained with temporary traffic control and safety measures. Please be alert for the possibility of stopped traffic and shifting traffic patterns as work progresses. Motorists should expect delays during daytime working hours and are encouraged to seek alternate routes for the duration of the project. Please drive slowly and cautiously through any active construction zones. It is anticipated that construction of these improvements will be completed within 4 to 6 weeks.
