Cameron University students come from everywhere - literally - and then move on to careers around the globe after they complete their studies. Given that fact, "The Road That Brought Us Here" makes perfect sense for the university's 2026 homecoming theme.
A full lineup of activities for CU students will highlight homecoming, which runs Feb. 2-7. Festivities are organized through the university's Events and Activities office and the student-led Programming Activities Council (PAC).
"Homecoming is a meaningful opportunity for us to reflect on the experiences, traditions, and connections that define the Aggie community," said Director of Events and Activities Alannah Meyers-Young. "This year's theme, 'The Road That Brought Us Here,' honors the shared journey of our students, faculty and staff - and the sense of belonging that makes Cameron University special."
Activities start Monday with students being able to get their own henna tattoo courtesy of Jody, following up with balloon animals available from a talented artist on Tuesday. Both events, sponsored by PAC, happen in the lobby of the McMahon Centennial Complex, and both take place from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on respective days.
On Wednesday, Events and Activities will sponsor a Chick-fil-A giveaway for students in Cameron Park (depending on weather conditions) starting at 11:30 a.m.
The fun ramps up on Thursday, when PAC sponsors a casino night and dance for students from 6-9 p.m. in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex.
The highlight of the week happens Saturday, when Events and Activities hosts the crowning of the homecoming monarch in Aggie Gymnasium during halftime of the men's basketball game against Eastern New Mexico University. Basketball action begins with the women's game at 1 p.m. The men's game will follow at approximately 3 p.m.
Not only will currently enrolled Cameron students vote during the week to select the homecoming monarch, they will also have the chance to earn a commemorative t-shirt by participating in the week's activities.
Unlike past years, this spring's homecoming will not include weekend events for alumni. The CU Alumni Association has moved its annual celebration to the fall, at a date to be announced later.
