Shop Lakewood supports West Colfax businesses

Lakewood has launched a new pilot Shop Lakewood initiative powered by Open Rewards, a free app designed to keep dollars circulating within the local economy by allowing shoppers to earn cash back on purchases.

Shoppers earn 5 percent rewards on purchases at participating local businesses that can be redeemed at other eligible businesses in the program, multiplying the impact of every local purchase.

Sponsored by Lakewood's Economic Development Office, this pilot program focuses on supporting locally owned, retail-based businesses in areas affected by the West Colfax Transportation Safety Project and the North Dry Gulch Improvement Project. These two projects constitute the largest infrastructure investment in Lakewood's history. Building a safer, stronger West Colfax corridor from the ground up, these projects are addressing transportation safety and flooding issues.

Shoppers can get started by downloading the Open Rewards app on their smartphones, earning rewards automatically by linking a credit card or uploading receipts, then redeeming rewards via an additional purchase at a participating business. Rewards are capped at $20 per purchase and expire six months after issuance. Learn more about at LakewoodCO.gov/OpenRewards.
