Local School Supply Drive Aims to Help Students Start the School Year Ready to Learn

As families prepare for the upcoming school year, Border Bank is once again partnering with local communities to collect school supplies for students in need. The annual School Supply Drive will run from July 15 through August 21, 2026.

Community members are invited to donate new school supplies, including notebooks, folders, crayons, markers, pencils, pens, backpacks, calculators, facial tissues, disinfectant wipes and other classroom essentials. All donated items will be distributed to local schools and organizations that support students and families throughout the communities the bank serves.

"Every child deserves to begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed," said Kory Shae, CEO. "For many families, the cost of school supplies continues to be a challenge. This annual drive is an opportunity for all of us to come together and help ensure students can start the school year with confidence and be ready to learn from day one."

The School Supply Drive reflects the bank's ongoing commitment to supporting education and investing in the communities it serves. Employees throughout the organization will also participate by collecting donations and helping coordinate local delivery efforts.

"One of the greatest strengths of our communities is the willingness of people to help their neighbors," Shae said. "Whether you're donating a backpack, a package of notebooks, or a handful of pencils, every contribution makes a difference for a student and family preparing for a new school year."

Donations will be accepted at all branch locations through Friday, August 21, 2026. Community members are encouraged to stop by any location during regular business hours to contribute.

Border Bank was established in 1935 and has two branches in Fargo and nine branches throughout Minnesota, including Coon Rapids, Greenbush, Thief River Falls, Middle River, Badger, Roseau, Baudette, International Falls, and Clearbrook.
