Munson Healthcare is pleased to welcome the following providers to our clinics:
"I'm proud to live in and serve a Michigan community similar to the one I grew up in, helping patients feel better and live longer."
Dr. Beckman was drawn to a career in medicine because it allows him to connect with and help other people. He specializes in coronary artery revascularization, cardiac valve disease (surgical repair and replacement), thoracic aortic disease, open thoracic aorta surgery, and anti-arrhythmia surgery.
"Taking care of patients who have cancer is an incredible privilege. It is so rewarding to be a part of their team-including their families, friends, communities and other collaborating care professionals-while they face their disease."
Dr. Howard chose a career in radiation oncology because of the opportunity to help his patients understand their disease and treatment options and help ease any concerns they have about radiation treatment. He has a special interest in the recent advancements in stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) that allow providers to precisely target high doses of radiation to control many kinds of cancer. He is excited to help deliver the best radiation treatments available to patients in Northern Michigan.
"I enjoy creating lasting relationships with my patients and helping them navigate through both the best and most difficult times in their lives. It's an honor to be trusted with my community's health."
Dr. Kopkau-Janis chose to pursue a career in family medicine because it allows her to care for people across their lifespans. She has special interests in women's health, pediatrics, diabetes management, substance use disorder treatment, and dermatologic procedures.

"Every patient has a unique story. My goal is to listen, understand their individual needs, and work together to find solutions."
Dr. Kutschke has special interests in treating bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), substance use disorders, and personality disorders. He utilizes a variety of treatment options in his practice, including medications, therapy, lifestyle changes, such as physical activity, diet, and sleep, and other complementary treatments.
Dr. Kutschke sees patients at Munson Outpatient Behavioral Health in Traverse City, Munson Healthcare Cadillac Primary Care, and Munson Healthcare Manistee Primary Care.
"I love getting to know my patients and their families and helping them feel heard."
Katie was diagnosed with cancer at just two and a half years old and went into remission at age five. Her time in the hospital inspired her to choose a career to help children like herself. Her favorite thing about pediatrics is helping her patients and watching them grow.
