This week, the City of Frederick joined Governor Wes Moore and local partners in celebrating the expansion of Bakery de France, a leading par-baked bread and retail supplier, which will open a new 176,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at its existing production site at 8400 Bakery Way. The expansion represents a major investment in Frederick's growing manufacturing sector and is expected to create 125 new permanent full-time jobs by the end of 2028.
"Frederick is thrilled when top employers like Bakery de France continue to invest in new facilities, production lines, and jobs here in our community," said Mayor Michael O'Connor. "This expansion reinforces that Frederick remains one of Maryland's top destinations for business growth and innovation."
"This project highlights exactly what makes Frederick such a strong choice for advanced manufacturing," added Richard Griffin, Director of Economic Development for The City of Frederick. "Bakery de France is growing here because they can find the infrastructure, partnerships, and skilled workforce they need to thrive. The City is proud to help facilitate this expansion and to continue supporting the company's long-term success."
Headquartered in Rockville, Bakery de France provides all-natural, sustainably made artisan breads to retailers and restaurants across the nation. The company's existing Frederick facility is used for long fermentation of its artisan breads, and the new site will help increase production of baguettes, dinner rolls, bread loaves, and more.
