Get ready to mock!

The stage is set for the 2025 Middle School Mock Trial tournament. We hope that your community will consider participating in this valuable educational program. Last year, more than 2,000 students from across Iowa participated. The tournament includes students from social studies courses, TAG programs, at-risk classes, and extracurricular mock trial clubs. We urge you to join the fun and register to judge at a competition near you.

The 2025 Middle School Mock Trial Regional Competition dates and locations are:

Saturday, Nov. 1 - Cedar Rapids/Linn County Courthouse

Tuesday, Nov. 4 - Marshalltown/Community College

Wednesday, Nov. 5 - Mason City/NIACC

Friday, Nov. 7 - Council Bluffs/Iowa Western Comm. College

Tuesday, Nov. 11 - Des Moines/Airport Holiday Inn Conference Center

Thursday, Nov. 13 - Mount Vernon (Cornell College)

Monday, Nov. 17 - Des Moines/Airport Holiday Inn Conference Center

Tuesday, Nov. 18 - Sioux City/Convention Center

Thursday, Nov. 20 - Davenport/ St. Ambrose University

Friday, Nov. 21 - Waterloo/Convention Center

The state tournament will take place Dec. 1-3, 2025 at the Prairie Meadows Events & Conference Center in Altoona and the Iowa Judicial Branch Building in Des Moines.

Click here and secure your spot as a judge this fall. Volunteers do not have to be an attorney to participate as a mock trial judge. Judges will be asked to assess student performances as they act as attorneys and witnesses. Last year, more than 600 members of the bar assisted as judges and coaches in tournaments held throughout Iowa.
