Mayor Bowser and Public Safety Officials to Host Fourth of July Preparedness Briefing

(Washington, DC) - On Monday, June 29 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by District public safety officials and federal partners to share preparations for the upcoming Fourth of July celebrations and America's 250th anniversary events taking place across Washington, DC.

The briefing will include public safety plans for the Capitol Hill and Palisades parades, events on the National Mall including the Salute to America 250 Celebration, firework displays, the Great American State Fair, and the Washington Nationals game. Officials will discuss road closures, firework safety tips, extreme heat preparedness, and the coordinated public safety and security posture along the Potomac River.

Officials will also provide guidance for residents and visitors attending events throughout the holiday weekend and share information on transportation, emergency response resources, and public safety operations.
