Michael Massiah taught chemistry and biochemistry courses and supported research and program development at the University of Guyana.

Michael Massiah, an associate professor of chemistry at the George Washington University, spent the spring 2026 semester as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Guyana. He was hosted by the university's Department of Chemistry in the College of Natural Sciences.

Massiah taught organic chemistry and biochemistry and created two green chemistry courses, including an elective and a course for third-year chemistry majors. He also supported faculty research and helped develop a proposed master's program in natural products.
