NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES ON GENERAL OCCUPATIONAL LICENSING FUNCTIONS FOR FEES FOR MIDWIVES AND CONCERT PROMOTERS IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, COMMUNITY, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing proposes to change regulations regarding occupational licensing fees for direct-entry midwives, apprentice direct-entry midwives, and concert promoters.

Summary of proposed changes: The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (Department) proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 02 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with general occupational licensing functions, including the following:

(1) 12 AAC 02.145. Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives, is proposed to be changed as follows: decrease the certification fee for the initial biennial certification period and implement a nonrefundable application fee for apprentice direct-entry midwife permits.

(2) 12 AAC 02.170. Concert Promoters, is proposed to be changed as follows: decrease the fees for the application and certificate of registration for the initial biennial registration period, decrease the biennial certificate of registration renewal fee, and clarify that the application fee is nonrefundable.

Written comments: You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Stefanie Davis, Regulations Specialist, Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, P.O. Comments may also be submitted through the Alaska Online Public Notice System, by accessing this notice on the system at http://notice.alaska.gov/224310, and using the comment link.

Written comment deadline: The written comments must be received not later than 4:30 p.m. on August 3, 2026.
