Introducing Stripe Treasury for agents

SAN FRANCISCO AND DUBLIN-Stripe today announced Stripe Treasury for agents, giving startups a way to manage financial operations with agents, including ChatGPT and Claude.

Businesses use Stripe Treasury to bank from the same dashboard where they already accept payments. Stripe Treasury for agents means business finances can now be executed by agents from inside the tools they use to run the rest of their operations. They can check balances, pay invoices, transfer funds between accounts, and convert currencies. Businesses will soon be able to use agents for more tasks, including creating cards. They'll also be able to set spending limits for their agents in the coming weeks.

"Every founder wants to spend more time building and less time on admin," said JR Farr, product lead for Stripe Treasury. "Stripe Treasury for agents makes it easier for founders to safely offload repetitive financial tasks so they can focus on growing their business."

Hyperscaling startups are growing faster, and more globally, than ever before-and they're doing it with lean teams. Solopreneurs are on the rise: more than twice as many earned over $1 million in 2025 than in 2023, and nearly three times as many crossed the $5 million and $10 million thresholds. In the second quarter of this year, 63% of C corps formed through Stripe Atlas were solo startup founders. In many cases, these startups are using agents to run their operations and keep their teams small.

Kubrio, for example, is a platform helping kids aged 6-13 make films, games, comics, and robot designs. Its founder, Vlad Stan, is the only employee and relies on AI agents to run the business. "Kubrio runs on one founder plus AI agents," Stan says.

Stan started using Stripe Treasury as Kubrio's main business account earlier this year. His Grok agent, Stash, connects to Kubrio's Treasury account through Stripe's model context protocol (MCP) server. Every morning, Stash checks Kubrio's balances, new and canceled subscriptions, failed payments, and refunds, then sends Stan a report. He reads it daily and steps in when he spots a problem.

Stan plans to use Stripe Treasury for agents to let Stash transfer money between Kubrio accounts and pay the platform's contractors and creators, with all payments approved by Stan. Instead of switching between his AI workspace and financial providers, he'll be able to ask an agent to prepare financial actions and approve them before any money moves.

Startups using Stripe Treasury for agents choose which accounts and data agents can access, whether they can read information or take action, and when money movement requires human approval. Stripe's MCP allows agents to interact with the Stripe API and access Stripe data.
