Military Veterans hosts second SANMVA Elective Conference, 21 to 24 May

Department to host second SANMVA Elective Conference

In support of South African National Military Veterans Association (SANMVA) National Office Bearers, the Department of Military Veterans will convene the Second Elective Conference from 21 to 24 May 2026 at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre.

Under the theme "Beyond challenges, forward to unity in renewed purpose", the three-day conference will bring together approximately 400 delegates and guests from across the country to not only elect new office bearers, but also to deliberate on matters relating to the organisation, leadership renewal, organisational strengthening, and issues affecting military veterans.

The conference will also be attended by invited stakeholders and strategic partners from various institutions, including government departments and entities such as the Government Pensions Administration Agency (GPAA), South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), Armscor, AgriSETA, and African Military Development Initiative (AMDI), among others.

Dignitaries expected to attend include representatives from provincial government leadership and the Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni Ald Nkosindiphile Xhakaza.
