Cleco volunteers with Northshore Humane Society

Cleco employees volunteered at Northshore Humane Society as part of the company's Done in a Day program.

Cleco's Done in a Day program furthers the company's partnerships with charitable organizations across its service territory, as well as provides an opportunity for its employees to get involved in the community. Through the program, Cleco works with charitable organizations who request assistance with a project that can be completed within one day or a few hours.

Volunteers spent the morning cleaning up the dog play areas and helping the Humane Society prepare for their upcoming community camps.

Northshore Humane Society is a no-kill animal rescue and community veterinary clinic. The clinic, adoption programs and fostering programs provide life-saving care and enrichment to pets in the Northshore region.

"Making an impact in your community can start anywhere," said Colie Plaster, communications representative at Cleco and Done in a Day program coordinator. "Done in a Day volunteer projects are a great way for Cleco employees to get connected and make a difference in their hometowns."

"Community volunteers are the heart of our mission," said Susie Kaznowitz, director of marketing at Northshore Humane Society. "Cleco employees' time, compassion, and willingness to serve directly impact the daily care, enrichment, and overall well-being of the animals in our shelter. We simply could not do this lifesaving work without their support."
