Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised the Trustee of the Oxford Instruments Pension Scheme on its £213 million buy-in with Royal London.
High Wycombe-based Oxford Instruments Pension Scheme is a single-employer defined benefit corporate pension scheme.
The transaction was finalised in December 2025 and means that Oxford Instruments Pension Scheme's 1,600 members even greater security for their benefits. The scheme is sponsored by Oxford Instruments plc, a provider of scientific technology tools and expertise to a variety of partners.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team provided legal advice to the Trustee of the Scheme throughout the buy-in. The team was led by Head of UK Pensions Lesley Browning with further support provided by counsels Giannis Waymouth and Graeme Tricker.
Aon acted as the risk transfer adviser and scheme actuary to the Trustee.
Schroders provided investment advice with secretariat and governance support from the Independent Governance Group. Royal London was advised by Mayer Brown.
