Chinese Consul General in Bandar Abbas Xu Wei Meets with Head of IRNA Hormozgan Branch

On October 25, 2025, Consul General Xu Wei met with Kamil Beheshtian, head of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Hormozgan Branch.Consul General Xu briefed on the Global Governance Initiative, the Global Women's Summit, and key outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He also reviewed recent high-level exchanges between China and Iran and exchanged views on deepening media cooperation.

Consul General Xu noted that high-level interactions between China and Iran have been frequent in recent months, with deepening political mutual trust and steady progress in practical cooperation. Last month, President Xi Jinping met with President Pezeshkian during his visit to China, charting the course for the next stage of China-Iran relations. China will actively implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, advance cooperation in various fields including media, and further enrich the substance of the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership.

Mr. Behishtiyan commended China's constructive role and objective, fair position in international affairs, and expressed IRNA's readiness to maintain close communication with the Chinese side, give full play to the media's unique role, and contribute to greater development of bilateral relations.
