The Nashville Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will conduct cold patrols on Wednesday, January 14 to assist individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. The patrols will start around 6:00 p.m. and continue through 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. based on the observed needs.
During these patrols, teams will check on areas known to be inhabited by the unhoused, offering transportation to shelters, providing winter kits with essential supplies to stay warm, and connecting individuals with additional resources.
According to the Nashville Office of the National Weather Service (NWS) morning rain is expected to give way to snow showers this evening. There is a low chance that locations along the plateau receive an inch or greater of snow accumulation.
The cold patrols are part of our ongoing commitment to support vulnerable populations during the winter months. The need for these services is critical, especially as temperatures drop.
OEM encourages community members to remain vigilant and report any individuals in need of support to 911.
