Jaymes Briones Selected as September 2026 Employee of the Month

Escambia County is excited to recognize Jaymes Briones, Multimedia Graphic Designer in the Community and Media Relations Department, as the September 2026 Employee of the Month. Briones' selection was recognized with a proclamation at the Sept. 10 Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Briones joined Escambia County in June 2025, bringing over 20 years of graphic design experience to the role and improving the county's branding and image throughout various departments. He is responsible for creating all marketing materials for Escambia County, including social media graphics, flyers, posters, postcards, brochures, vehicle wraps, and more. Briones has quickly become a go-to person for many department requests because they know he will complete the task efficiently, effectively, and always with a smile.

"I am incredibly proud to recognize Jaymes as Employee of the Month and highlight the excellent work he does for Escambia County," said Kaycee Lagarde, Director of Communications and Public Information. "Jaymes has quickly become an integral part of our team, and we are very fortunate to have his talents here at the county. There are many qualities that make him the perfect choice for this honor, from his positivity and team spirit to his strong work ethic and commitment to creating high-quality design projects for the county."

When the CMR department was short staffed and without a videographer earlier this year, Briones stepped in without hesitation to take on additional job duties. He took on the responsibility of live streaming and recording all Board of County Commissioner meetings, in addition to live streaming and recording numerous county boards and committees in BCC chambers and at the county's Central Office Complex. Briones quickly mastered the technical skills needed to ensure the live streaming services were not interrupted, which requires extreme attention to detail and a very technical skillset. His dedication to his role and helping his team consistently reflect his positive approach and can-do attitude no matter the task at hand.

"I am honored to be selected as the Employee of the Month," Briones said. "I love getting to work with all the different departments across the county. In over 20 years of graphic design, I have never felt more joy and a sense of accomplishment than I do working for the citizens of Escambia County. A big thank you to my amazing team here in Community and Media Relations for always helping me navigate our different projects and their continued support. I look forward to creating graphics that help strengthen and improve the visual presence of our county."
