Hillcrest Drive Traffic Calming Project

City DPW-Engineering Department's Traffic Engineering Division will be providing an update on the traffic calming project along Hillcrest Dr between McCain Dr and Route 40 that was initiated to address safety concerns raised in the past few years for the roadway. This update is a follow-up to public meetings that were conducted last year.

The traffic calming project will involve addition of new pavement markings as well as updated crosswalks with flex post treatments at intersections along the Hillcrest Dr corridor between McCain Dr and Route 40. Additionally, the Hillcrest Dr & Seneca Dr intersection is proposed to be converted from two-way STOP control to all-way STOP control (i.e., STOP control to be added to Hillcrest Dr approaches to Seneca Dr).

The plan update will be presented at public outreach meetings scheduled as follows:

Oct 7 at 6:30 pm - AMAC Meeting (City Annex Building; 140 W Patrick St)

Oct 8 at 7:00 pm - NAC 8 Meeting (Butterfly Ridge Elementary School; 601 Contender Way)

A timeline for implementation of this traffic calming project will be developed by November after completion of public review, preparation of a final plan based on resident feedback, and in coordination with City's Department of Public Works-Operations Division.
