The City of Yuma's Parks and Recreation Department will host a mother and son celebration on Saturday, May 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Yuma Readiness and Community Center (6550 E 24th Street).
For this special evening, mothers are invited to treat their sons to a memorable night out featuring music and dancing, dinner, games, and photo opportunities.
This year's theme, "Tanks for the Memories," will bring a military-styled feel to the event. The venue's large helicopter mural will help set the scene and provide a one-of-a-kind backdrop for the evening.
"Boys and their moms will have an amazing time having a special night together with activities that are just right for the occasion," said Marilyn Lammel, Recreation Program Supervisor. "We encourage everyone to either dress up or dress for the theme of the night."
The event is designed for boys ages 4 to 12 and their mothers. Tickets are $45 per mother-son couple, with additional tickets for sons available for $20 each. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone through Parks and Recreation, or in person at City Hall (One City Plaza).
This event is proudly presented in partnership with the Arizona National Guard.
