Defense Support for Ukraine and Veteran Policy: The President Met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Defense of Croatia Ivan Anušić.

"We are very pleased to welcome you to our country. We are good friends with your Prime Minister and are very grateful to your government and your people for their full support of our nation," said the Head of State.

The President thanked Croatia for the 14th package of military assistance already allocated and for the 15th package planned by the end of this year.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ivan Anušić discussed the importance of implementing projects within the PURL initiative, particularly regarding air defense assets, and of using the opportunities provided by the SAFE mechanism.

The President also thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his personal participation in the International Veterans Conference held on October 9-10 in Split, Croatia. The Head of State emphasized that veteran policy and social reintegration are very important and sensitive issues for Ukraine, and that our country is interested in Croatia's experience in this area.

"We are ready to help your veterans. We know how difficult it is for servicemen returning from the frontline to reintegrate into civilian life. It is a difficult task, but it is possible," said Ivan Anušić.

The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister also noted that he had visited Bucha and paid tribute to those who gave their lives for Ukraine's freedom and for the values of democracy. He stressed that Croatia has supported Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale war and will continue to do so.
