City administrative offices to close in observance of 2026 Memorial Day

City of Norman Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, to observe Memorial Day. Normal hours and business will resume May 26, 2026. Additional details concerning certain departments and services can be found below.

SANITATION SERVICES

City of Norman Sanitation services (commercial pickup, residential curbside, to include recycling and yard waste) will remain on the regular schedule during the holiday. The Transfer Station, 3901 Chautauqua Avenue, will be open normal operating hours - from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; the Compost Facility, 398 Bratcher Miner Road, will be open for normal operating hours - from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

PARKS & RECREATION SITES

Recreation centers, to include the Young Family Athletic Center, will be closed on Memorial Day. However, the Westwood Family Aquatic Center, Tennis Center and Golf Course will be open for normal operating hours. TRANSIT OPERATIONS

  • EMBARK Norman public transit service will not operate on Memorial Day. Normal routes will resume May 26, 2026. Visit www.embarknorman.com for more information.

NORMAN POLICE DEPARTMENT RECORDS DIVISION & ANIMAL WELFARE

The Norman Police Department Records Division and the Norman Animal Welfare facility will both be closed on Memorial Day.
