The affordability crisis is intensifying loneliness, with CFP Board's research, Financial FOMO: A Survey About Money and Relationships, finding that 67% of Americans have skipped social events in the past two years because of cost, including trips, family gatherings, and weddings. Despite widespread comfort discussing money in general, the study shows many people conceal financial strain from loved ones, often giving vague excuses, which deepens isolation and gradually undermines personal relationships.
