Norman Police Investigate Officer-Involved Collision

March 24, 2026

The Norman Police Department responded to a report of an injury collision near the intersection of Classen Blvd and E. Lindsey Street at approximately 9:23 p.m. on March 24.

The initial investigation indicates that two NPD officers were traveling southbound on Classen Blvd responding to a report of fatality collision when another vehicle turned in front of the second officer's vehicle. Both officers' lights and sirens were activated at the time of the collision.

The NPD officer was transported to an area hospital in serious condition for injuries sustained during the collision. The officer was later released after receiving treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 25-year-old male, was also transported as a precautionary measure but reported no injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
