TRAFFIC ALERT: New Traffic Pattern at Route 60 & Route HH in Newton Co. Beginning Week of Nov. 24

Where: U.S. Route 60 & Newton County Route HH east of Neosho

When: Beginning week of November 24 for up 45 days

What: New traffic pattern while contractor crews continue intersection improvements

Traffic Impacts:

  • South side of U.S. Route 60/Route HH intersection CLOSED for up to 45 days beginning week of November 24
    • Route HH traffic approaching Route 60 from the south will have no access to Route 60 while intersection is CLOSED
    • Drivers will have access to all businesses south of Route 60
    • Route HH will be CLOSED between Route 60 and Mallard Drive
    • Drivers traveling east- or westbound on Route 60 will not be affected, but will have no access to Route HH south of the intersection
  • Route HH (Carl Sweeney Parkway) traffic approaching from the north will have access to Route 60 via the newly completed roundabout
  • No signed detours
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is part of a project to make improvements at six (6) intersections along U.S. Route 60 between Newton County Route Y east of Seneca and Missouri Route 97 in Barry County near the Monett Regional Airport. More information can be found by going to the project website.

  • Completion Date: December 1, 2026
  • Total Cost: $9.7 million
