The City of Tucson Environmental Services Department's monthly Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Community Collection Events return Saturday, September 12, following the summer break.

What Can I Bring?

Residents are encouraged to bring accepted household hazardous waste and electronic waste items, including:

• Household chemicals
• Paint and stains
• Batteries
• Fluorescent bulbs
• Electronic waste (computers, televisions, printers, and other electronics)
• Automotive fluids
• Pesticides and fertilizers
• Pool chemicals
• Aerosol cans

Residency and Fees

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program is free for City of Tucson residents.

Beginning this season, residents of Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita, and unincorporated Pima County will be charged a $15 fee to participate in the community collection events. This updated fee reflects an increase approved by Mayor and Council to help support the continued operation of the program.

All participants must provide proof of residency by presenting a valid driver's license or a current utility bill at check-in.

Can't Make the Event?

City of Tucson residents can also dispose of household hazardous waste year-round at the Los Reales Sustainability Campus during regular HHW drop-off hours. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed on the 2nd Saturday of every month excluding summer months.

Why is the HHW program important?

The HHW Program helps keep harmful materials out of landfills and protects our environment by providing residents with a safe and responsible way to dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste. Items collected are managed by trained professionals and recycled, treated, or disposed of using environmentally responsible methods whenever possible.

By participating in the program, residents help protect our soil, groundwater, wildlife, and public health while supporting a cleaner, more sustainable community.
