MoDOT to host public meeting to present conceptual study materials for Route 47 in Fr…

FRANKLIN COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will host the second open house-style public meeting on Missouri Route 47 on Thursday, October 9 from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Union Community Center.

The center is located at 1329 Union Ave, Union, MO 63084. There will be no formal presentation.

The purpose of the public meeting is to present reasonable concept alternatives and provide the public and stakeholders with the opportunity learn about the conceptual study that spans along Missouri Route 47 from Route 100 in Washington through Union to Interstate 44 in St. Clair. This study is a critical step to confirming project goals and to solicit feedback on a range of alternatives on Missouri Route 47 in Franklin County and gathering input to ensure the improvements best meet the needs of communities and roadway users.

As part of the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), MoDOT budgeted an estimated $78.1 million for the construction of the safety and congestion improvements along the Route 47 corridor in Washington, Union, and St. Clair. Safety and Congestion are primary concerns along the corridor.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the study and a survey will be available to submit input on the reasonable concept alternatives. For those who are unable to attend the meeting in person, the information shared during the meeting as well as a survey form will be available on the website. The survey will be available until Thursday, October 23.

Access for people with disabilities is available. Those who require special services at the public meeting should notify Senior Communications Specialist Rachel V. Sudduth by Thursday, October 2, at 314-343-7731 so arrangements can be made.
