Michaels® Launches Big Twist® Yarn In-Store and Online

The beloved former JOANN® brand is now available in Michaels' new Knit & Sew Shop chainwide

Michaels, the leading destination for creating and celebrating in North America, today announced that the popular yarn brand, Big Twist, is now available in-store and online across the U.S. and Canada. This follows Michaels' acquisition of JOANN's private label brands earlier this year and serves as the latest way Michaels is delivering the selection, value and inspiration new and existing customers are looking for.

Big Twist, known for its softness, versatility, and unbeatable value, has long been a go-to for knitters and crocheters. Now, customers can find their favorite Big Twist yarns, including Baby Bear, Posh, Twinkle, and Value, right alongside Michaels' ever-growing assortment of fibers, hooks, tools, and more.

Over the past year, Michaels has greatly expanded its fabric, threads, and yarn offerings to meet growing demand as well as cater to former JOANN customers. Michaels has increased its dedicated fabric space in stores by nearly 25%, expanded fabric assortment in over 840 locations, and has over 125,000 options available online. The arrival of Big Twist is part of Michaels' largest yarn expansion yet, with the assortment increasing by 25% in 2025.

In addition to Big Twist, hundreds of new skeins have been added from top brands like Red Heart®, Bernat®, Caron Cakes, Lion Brand® and more, giving creators more choices, colors, and textures to spark creativity this season and beyond. The new dual-branded Knit & Sew Shop at Michaels offers other popular JOANN brands alongside a wide selection of threads, fabric, sewing notions, and yarn from Gütermann, Poly-fil, SINGER, Brother, and more.
