New grant will expand access to advanced surgical care at AdventHealth Manchester

Patients in Manchester and surrounding communities will soon have greater access to advanced surgical care closer to home.

The AdventHealth Manchester Foundation has received a $2.76 million grant through the Kentucky Division of Abandoned Mine Lands Economic Revitalization Program to support the addition of a da Vinci 5 surgical system at AdventHealth Manchester.

The new technology will help expand the hospital's surgical capabilities and give physicians additional options for performing minimally invasive procedures. For patients and families, that can mean receiving more advanced care without traveling far from home and the people who support them.

"This investment is about helping people get the care they need close to home," said Nick Bejarano, AdventHealth Manchester president and CEO. "As a faith-based health care organization, we are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen local care and continue supporting the health and well-being of our neighbors."

In addition to the da Vinci 5 system, grant funding will support related equipment, service support and training resources. AdventHealth Manchester is also investing additional funds in sterilization equipment needed to support the program.

The investment reflects AdventHealth's commitment to pairing advanced medicine with compassionate, whole-person care.

It also supports the organization's mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ by helping more people receive high-quality care in the place they call home.

"Every advancement we bring to Manchester starts with the people who depend on us," said Elaina McPhetridge, the foundation's coordinator. "This grant gives us another opportunity to strengthen care locally and help patients move forward with greater confidence and support."
