MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE APPROVAL OF 34 NEW ILLEGAL SETTLEMENTS BY THE ZIONIST ISRAELI REGIME

Malaysia strongly condemns the latest decision by the Zionist Israeli regime to approve the construction of 34 new illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).

The continuous expansion of illegal settlements forms part of Israel's systematic campaign to seize Palestinian land and forcibly alter the demographic composition of the Palestinian Territory. Such actions represent a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016), and a direct assault on the fundamental rights, dignity, and sovereignty of the Palestinian people.

Malaysia calls on the international community and the United Nations Security Council to act decisively and hold Israel accountable. Concrete and decisive measures must be undertaken to compel Israel to comply with international law and to bring an immediate end to its illegal occupation.

Malaysia underscores its unwavering commitment to its principled position in supporting the Palestinian people's legitimate struggle for their inalienable rights. Malaysia reiterates its call for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
