Cal State East Bay Men’s Basketball Makes History — Unbeaten and Unstoppable

The Cal State East Bay men's basketball team is officially living in rare air.

The Pioneers are ranked No. 3 in the nation and remain one of the final unbeaten teams in Division II. At 20-0, East Bay is off to one of the most electrifying starts in university history - and the best the program has ever seen.

This ranking eclipses the team's previous all-time high of No. 17 during the 1985-86 season.

Under head coach Bryan Rooney, the Pioneers' rise has been relentless. Throughout January, East Bay vaulted from No. 10 to No. 7 to No. 5, before cracking the national top three. Each week brought another win, another leap and another reason for the nation to take notice.

The journey continues tomorrow night, when the Pioneers return home looking to keep the streak alive. Tip-off against Cal State L.A. is at 7:30 p.m. on Cal State East Bay's Hayward campus.
