ICYMI: My appearance on America's Newsroom

Yesterday, I joined America's Newsroomto talk about an issue that should never be partisan: keeping our communities safe and putting Americans first.

I made it clear:

• We cannot tolerate any more preventable tragedies caused by illegal immigrants-like the horrific incident in our own community where an illegal immigrant truck driver took three innocent lives.

• Law enforcement officers across the country want to do their jobs and protect us, but too often they're blocked by elected officials who care more about scoring political points than protecting American families.

• States with leaders who put Americans first are stepping up. Everyone should follow their example instead of bowing to radical, open-border politics.

The bottom line is that we must uphold the rule of law in every corner of our nation.
