Congressman Don Davis Votes to Support Eastern North Carolina Farmers and Lower Gas Prices

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 1346, the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act:

"The number one issue I hear from families across North Carolina is the rising cost of living, and with growing instability in the Middle East raising concerns about gas prices, people are looking for relief wherever they can find it. Year-round access to E15 is a commonsense solution that is already helping lower costs at the pump, often saving drivers between 15 and 30 cents per gallon at more than 130 stations across North Carolina. At the same time, farmers across eastern North Carolina are dealing with rising input costs, including sharp increases in fertilizer and nitrogen prices," said Congressman Don Davis. " Expanding access to E15 helps lower fuel costs for consumers, strengthens domestic energy production, and creates stronger markets for American-grown corn."
