ENGIE North America (ENGIE) and Ares Infrastructure Opportunities announced they are growing their partnership by adding a 730 MW portfolio of existing U.S. solar and wind projects, consisting of one wind farm and two solar plants operating on the Texas (ERCOT) grid. ENGIE will retain majority ownership and continue to operate and manage the assets.
Orrick advised ENGIE in the deal.
ENGIE North America is part of the ENGIE Group, a global leader in the energy transition. ENGIE is committed to accelerating the transition towards a carbon-neutral economy, investing more than $10 billion annually to advance the energy transition and achieve its net zero carbon goal by 2045.
The transaction supports growing electricity demand in Texas with immediately available clean generation. By focusing on assets already in service, the deal reduces execution risk while advancing the expansion of large-scale renewable infrastructure under experienced long-term operators.
The Orrick team was led by Bradford Gathright and included Wolf Pohl, Spencer Sinclair, Cacique Rich-Martinez, Michelle Pichardo, Jonathan Rose and Chelsea Munoz-Patchen.
