Resurfacing Update: July 13, 2026

BLOOMINGTON, IL - The City of Bloomington provides regular updates on resurfacing work throughout the construction season. The most recent update is included below.

FY26 Resurfacing

E. Oakland Ave, west of Prospect through Hershey

• A final inspection has been completed and clean-up will be scheduled

Prospect Rd, Oakland to Empire

• A final inspection has been completed and clean-up will be scheduled

E. Washington St, Veterans through Hershey

• A final inspection has been completed and clean-up will be scheduled

FY27 Resurfacing

Eastland Dr, Fairway to Hershey

Stage 1: Veterans to Hershey

• Removal of the underground utility castings has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the underground utility work has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the concrete items (curb & gutter, sidewalks) is in progress
• Removal (milling) of the asphalt and concrete surfaces has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the concrete pavement patches has been completed
• Pavement joint and crack repairs, cleaning of the pavement surface has been completed
• Installation of the sand binder course has been completed
• Installation of the Longitudinal Joint Sealant has been completed
• Installation of the prime tack coat is in progress
• Installation of the asphalt surface course has been scheduled for July 14 and 15
• Replacement of the underground utility castings has been scheduled after asphalt surface course
• Installation of the pavement striping has been tentatively scheduled

Stage 2: Fairway to Veterans

• Road construction work will begin on Monday, July 13
• The limits and layout of the work zone has been completed
• Changeable message boards have been installed the week prior to work starting
• Installation of the traffic control devices has been completed
• Underground utility locations have been requested
• Removal and replacement of the underground utility work has been scheduled
• Removal of the underground utility castings has been scheduled
• Removal and replacement of the concrete items (curb & gutter, sidewalks) has been scheduled

Four Seasons Rd, north of Oakland through the cul-de-sac

• Removal of the underground utility castings has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the underground utility work has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the concrete items (curb & gutter, sidewalks) is in progress
• Removal (milling) of the concrete surface has been scheduled for the week of July 13
• Removal and replacement of the pavement patches has been scheduled after completion of the milling of the concrete surface

St. Joseph Dr, Washington to Eastland

• Removal of the underground utility castings has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the underground utility work has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the concrete items (ADA ramps and sidewalks) has been completed
• Removal (milling) of the asphalt surface has been completed
• Removal and replacement of the pavement patches has been completed
• Pavement joint and crack repairs, cleaning of the pavement surface has been completed
• Installation of the asphalt binder course has been completed
• Installation of the asphalt surface course has been completed
• Replacement of the underground utility castings has been completed
• Installation of the pavement striping has been tentatively scheduled
