CITY OF INDIO TO HOLD RIBBON CUTTING FOR NEW BADLANDS TRAILHEAD IMPROVEMENTS ON MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2026

INDIO, CA (April 24, 2026) - The City of Indio invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of the newly improved Indio Badlands Trailhead with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

The event will take place at 42000 Golf Center Parkway, Indio, CA 92203, and marks the completion of several enhancements designed to improve accessibility, sustainability, and the overall visitor experience at one of Indio's most unique natural destinations.

Community members, local leaders, and the public are invited to attend and enjoy the newly upgraded amenities, which include:

· More than 30 new parking spaces

· 45+ newly planted trees

· Solar-powered lighting

· Landscaping upgrades

· A new walking path for improved access

Attendees will also receive free City of Indio reusable water bottles, while supplies last.

The Indio Badlands Trailhead offers scenic desert views and a unique outdoor experience for hikers, nature lovers, and visitors alike. The improvements aim to support increased use while preserving the natural beauty of the area.
