GW Alumna Named Deputy Director for Congressional Affairs at U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs

Earlier in her career, Hamilton supported Navy SSP as a Systems Engineer.

Sydney Hamilton, M.P.A. '21, has been appointed Deputy Director for Congressional Affairs at Strategic Systems Programs(SSP), a U.S. Navy program office. Hamilton will serve as a liaison between the U.S. Navy Acquisition Command and lawmakers, ensuring that program plans are relayed to members of Congress and their staffs to support the SSP's mission and program requirements.

Before joining SSP, Hamilton supported the Congressional Affairs Office in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering and the Nuclear Deterrence Policy team in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Counter-WMD Policy.

Hamilton is a 2018 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where she earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology. She also holds a master's degree in public administration from GW.
