Board of County Commissioners' Schedule for December 8 -12

MONDAY, December 8
1:00 p.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

Personnel matters pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat § 24-6-402 (4)(b). Purpose: Review of County Manager applications.

TUESDAY, December 9
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Statutory requirements related to sales tax vendor's fees and exemptions; Colorado Local Budget Law requirements; authority and obligations of BoCC and other elected officials/public health on budget matters.
2. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e). Purpose: Department of Revenue collection and administration of the County Sales Tax.

10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

1. Approval of County Cash Requirements November 14, 2025 through November 28, 2025.
2. Approval of appointment to the Durango Public Library Board.
3. Approval of appointments to the Board of Review.
4. Approval of appointments to the Community Corrections Board.
5. Approval of appointment to the Board of Adjustment.
6. Approval of re-appointment to the Durango-La Plata County Airport Commission.
7. Approval of appointment to the Extension Advisory Committee.
8. Approval of appointment to the Lake Durango Water Authority.
9. Approval of appointment to the Southwest La Plata Library District Board.
10. Approval of appointments to the Undesirable Plant and Rodent Advisory Commission.
11. Approval of appointments to the Wildfire Advisory Board.
12. Approval of appointment to the Wildfire and Watershed Protection Fund Advisory Board.
13. Approval of appointments to the Historic Preservation Review Commission.
14. Approval of appointment to the Ignacio Community Library Board of Trustees.
15. Consideration of appointments to the Planning Commission.
16. Consideration of appointment to the Pine River Cemetery District Committee.
17. Consideration of appointments to the Living with Wildlife Advisory Board.
18. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-29 prohibiting certain categories of graywater use within unincorporated portions of La Plata County.
19. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-30 supplementing the 2025 Budget.
20. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-32, adoption of the 2026 La Plata County Budget.
21. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-33, appropriating sums of money for the 2026 Budget.
22. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-34 levying property taxes for the year 2025 to help defray the costs for the 2026 budget year.

10:30 a.m. - Special Business Meeting of the La Plata County Palo Verde Public Improvement District #3 (immediately following Business Agenda Meeting)
The Board will consider:

1. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-01 - PVPIDB#3, adoption of the 2026 Palo Verde Public Improvement District #3 Budget.
2. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-02 - PVPIDB#3, Appropriation of Sums of Money for the PID3 2026 Budget.
3. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-03 - PVPIDB#3, Levying Property Taxes for the Year 2025 to help defray costs for the 2026 Budget Year.

Special Business Meeting of the Durango Hills Road Improvement District #1 (immediately following the Palo Verde Public Improvement District #3 meeting)
The Board will consider:

1. Consideration of Resolution No. R-DHRID#1-2025-02, adoption of the 2026 Durango Hills Road Improvement District Budget.
2. Consideration of Resolution No. R-DHRID#1-2025-03 Appropriation of Sums of Money for the Durango Hills Road Improvement District 2026 Budget.
3. Consideration of Resolution No. R-DHRID#1-2025-04 Levying Property Taxes for the Year 2025 to help defray costs for the 2026 budget year.

1:00 p.m. - Special Planning Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

1. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-36 amending Chapters 62, 66, 70 and 79 of the La Plata County Code.
2. Consideration of Resolution No. 2025-31 amending La Plata County Land Use Code Chapters 62, 66, 70, 72, 73, and 79, regarding Nonfunctional Turf, Artificial Turf, Invasive Plant Species, and Landscaping.

9:00 a.m. - Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI) Non-Session Steering Committee Meeting
The Board will attend the virtual CCI Non-Session Steering Committee Meeting to receive updates on a variety of topics from CCI staff and state partners.
