On October 13, 2025, Ambassador Ma Qiang met with Interim Chairperson of RJMEC, Maj. Gen. George Aggrey Owinow and his team.
Ambassador Ma stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), with its core principles precisely echoing the current realities in South Sudan and the aspirations of its people, and offering significant guidance for the international community in supporting South Sudan's pursuit of peace and development. China would like to work closely with RJMEC to support South Sudan in advancing its political transition process in an orderly manner.
Maj. Gen. George Aggrey Owinow expressed appreciation for China's consistent support to the South Sudan peace process and RJMEC. He noted that the GGI is timely and highly significant, and its principles such as advocating the people-centered approach and focusing on taking real actions, align with the common expectations of the South Sudanese people. RJMEC will maintain close communication and coordination with the Chinese side to foster further outcomes in the implementation of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan.
