On July 3, 2026, around 8:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a youth who had been injured by a moving train on the tracks in the 1300 block of Winnipeg Avenue West.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS), also on scene, transported the youth to hospital in unstable condition; later upgraded to stable.
The public is reminded to exercise extreme caution when in and around active rail lines. Never attempt to climb on rail equipment or approach a moving train under any circumstances. More rail safety information is available here.
