With winter weather expected this weekend, the City of Bloomington will implement a Snow Route Parking Ban beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The ban applies to all designated snow routes to allow snowplows and emergency vehicles to operate safely and efficiently.
Vehicles should not be parked on snow routes during the ban. Snow routes must remain clear so crews can plow and treat streets as conditions develop.
To assist residents, gates at City parking garages will be raised, providing free parking during the snow route parking ban at participating garages. The Arena Garage, Major Butler Lot, and Elks Lot are excluded due to three Bloomington Bison home games this weekend. Regular garage operations will resume once the ban is lifted. In addition, free parking is available at all City parks during the ban.
Based on evolving conditions, the City may determine that a citywide parking ban is necessary later during the event. If a citywide ban is issued, the public will be notified through City communication channels.
