NCPA Delegates Install Christian Tadrus as President, Approve Resolutions

NCPA October 6, 2026

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 6, 2026) - Christian Tadrus, PharmD, of Moberly, Mo., was installed as 2026-2027 president of the National Community Pharmacists Association by its House of Delegates at the organization's 2026 Annual Convention in Kansas City. Download his headshot here.

Tadrus, who has been an NCPA member for more than two decades, went to Boston University and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. In addition to owning independent community pharmacies and a direct primary care clinic in rural Missouri, Tadrus has served as president of the Missouri Pharmacy Association, as president and currently as vice-president of the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy, and as an appointee to Missouri's Joint Oversight Task Force for Prescription Drug Monitoring. He is a past chair of the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs, and is a board member of the Partnership for DSCSA Governance. He also works as a strategy adviser for the Tadrus Advisory Group, where he helps organizations and businesses navigate the complexities and nuances that lie at the intersection of industry and profession.

In his inaugural speech delivered during the House of Delegates meeting, Tadrus called on his fellow independent pharmacists to be present and active in the rooms where conversations happen about pharmacy practice, regulation, technology, payment and the infrastructure of health care. "Decisions made somewhere else can determine what happens at your counter," he said. "We know what it is like to unlock the door in the morning, take care of patients, and make payroll. We know where the friction is. We know what our patients need, what our teams face every day, and what it takes to make a pharmacy work."

"The work doesn't stop at the pharmacy door," Tadrus said. "We're most effective when we are present before the decisions are made, but we cannot spend all of our energy adapting to systems designed by somebody else. There are places where we should feel free and give ourselves permission to build something different."

The NCPA House of Delegates - comprised of pharmacy owners and managers representing their respective states - also elected Brian Hose of Sharpsburg, Md., to be the newest association officer. Additionally, they approved resolutions encouraging independent pharmacies' active participation in the CMS ACCESS program through CPESN and NCPA programs that empower pharmacists' decision making sovereignty; supporting independent pharmacies' role in emerging direct-to-employer, direct-to-consumer and direct-to-patient health care and pharmacy programs; and advocating for open, transparent and non-discriminatory participation standards that ensure equitable access to network participation.

Additionally, during this year's convention, attendees had the opportunity to take part in a Build-A-Bear experience and make bears to be donated to a child receiving care at Children's Mercy Kansas City. This initiative, generously sponsored by YARAL, resulted in 400 bears donated, bringing comfort, joy and a sense of connection to children facing difficult days.
