City of St. Petersburg Public Meeting Notice: Learn About Improvements Planned for the Cosme Water Treatment Plant
August 18, 2025 - The City of St. Petersburg invites residents to attend a public meeting to learn about improvements planned for the Cosme Water Treatment Plant - the city's sole water treatment plant - on Wednesday, August 27.

The Cosme Water Treatment Plant, located in Odessa and originally built in 1930, is St. Petersburg's sole water treatment plant, supplying water to more than 300,000 customers through 92,000 water accounts. The Cosme Water Treatment Plant Operational and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Improvements project will enhance operational efficiency and improve the facility's long-term reliability, resiliency and sustainability. Project design will continue through summer 2026, with construction tentatively beginning in late 2026.
