Today, the Pentagon confirmed that approximately 140 U.S. service members have been wounded in the first 10 days of Donald Trump's war of choice with Iran - a staggering increase from the eight injured service members the Pentagon previously disclosed. Seven service members have already been killed in less than two weeks of Trump's war.
Trump has flippantly said more service members will likely die as a result of his illegal and unpopular war, saying just yesterday, "When you have conflicts like this, you always have death." Just today, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump has refused to rule out putting American troops on the ground in Iran.
In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
"My thoughts are with the brave U.S. service members who have been wounded while serving our country during Donald Trump's war in Iran. We pray for their quick recovery as well as for the loved ones of our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice. Ten days into his war of choice in Iran, Trump has failed to provide Americans with a coherent justification, given contradictory timelines that change daily, and has demonstrated little remorse over the human cost of war. Meanwhile, the American people are totally in the dark while U.S. troops remain in harm's way and Americans are stranded in the Middle East because of Trump's illegal war."
